The Reaper is an ancient enemy of not just life, but spiritual essence. It appears as a humanoid upper torso made of shadow wearing a porcelain mask, its lower torso spreading out into inky mist. It wields a rune-etched scythe.

The Reaper consumes life essence, including the spirits of the dead. Each spirit it consumes feeds its power, making it a greater threat to more life.

For an age The Reaper was locked away in “The Reaper Realm”, a dimensional prison created by forces unknown.

Words is when the wall between worlds thinned, The Reaper could come out to feed. In October 2020 (Tales from the Improverse #30-32) The Team fought and accidentally freed The Reaper during one of these times. They subsequently joined forces with The Eternity Council, led by Omen to banish The Reaper back from whence it came.
