Mr. Gym claims to be the anthropomorphic personification of gyms as a concept. He seems to be able to exist in multiple places at once, though only near exercise-based locations: Gyms, tracks, stadiums, etc. and represents peak physical perfection. Plus he doesn’t seem to be able to die? Word is some of the parents of Redmayne students were instructed by Mr. Gym back in the old days.
Whatever he is, he’s also the physical education instructor at Redmayne Academy, working out of the newly installed Light Room (donated by Kennedy Enterprises, owned by The Light’s mom).
Mr. Gym’s appearance is variable, though he usually keeps one look for sports/education-specific intervals. A school year, for example, or during a sporting season, or even as short as a tournament he may appear at. Historically, Mr. Gym’s appearance was consistently masculine, but over time he’s appeared in feminine form (and been asked to be called Ms. Gym).
This year’s form at Redmayne Academy is as a muscular Asian man in his mid-thirties.
Though his gender issues have evolved, Mr. Gym is still very much a “gee-whiz” naive in many other ways.
