Mel Mellis was born in an animal cult. Hers specifically worshipped a Honey Badger spirit, and she was chosen at birth to “receive its blessing”, which involves being able to turn into a honey badger, or a half-badger, half-human beast of destruction.

Her parents got her out of that wacky cult and now she goes to a real school. Well, sort of — it’s Redmayne Academy, the school for powered youth.

Mel’s emotions run quick, both her temper and her ability to fall in love. Right now she’s enamored of Spectra, but before that it was Backlash.
